Proudly Serving Ventura County's Stunning Marina's: Channel Islands & Ventura Harbor
The 8-year-old version of me could often be found behind the helm of a 38 ft. Bayliner. Boating runs deep in my family. It's what my childhood was made up of and what I hope to pass on to my children as well. I grew up in the South Bay where my family spent 90% of any free time we had taking trips from Redondo Beach over to Catalina. Half the time, I could be found down in the engine room eager to learn, problem solve, and fix anything and everything. In high school, my first job that I held down for years to come was at a marine hardware store where I worked as an assistant mechanic. When I was 18-years-old, my dad entrusted me with the boat keys without blinking and gave my college friends and I the opportunity to use it as long as we keep his boat in its FINEST form and trust me - we returned it to him cleaner and running smoother than when we originally boarded.
My wife often finds me nerding out and pouring into manuals and boat specs for random boats much to her dismay - just for fun. Speaking of my wife, we met while getting my BA in Business Administration at California State University, Channel Islands, now 15-years-ago. I joined the sailing team back then and became very well acquainted with both Channel Islands & Ventura Harbor.
After college, I went on to get my MBA at the Martin V Smith School of Business & Economics. I joined my father's commercial brokerage, Barrette Real Estate Investments. While it is great work, my dream has always been to merge my professional life into doing what I love. And that is all encompassed around boating and so here we are.
My parents David & Gail Barrette, my wife Anna, and our kids Elliana (3) and Landen (7), and I belong to the Pacific Corinthian Yacht Club and are looking forward to continue to meet new families and create more memories there as well as in this amazing community.t description.
Hi! My name is Anna and I am the one running things behind the scenes supporting our clients. Boating has also been a part of my world since I was a child. My dad's main hobby that he passed down to me was our family coming down to his boat on the weekends where we mainly just did day trips. Fast forward till today, he has his boat in Ventura Harbor, which you can find us on most weekends.
Funny enough, the first time I nervously introduced Ray to my parents was when we came to meet them on a 38 ft. Chris Craft they were interested in before going to lunch. Ray saved my parents a significant lump sum that day by easily finding all the unexposed issues and I am pretty sure this helped the beginnings of a great start to "meeting the parents." I think his easy going and kind temperament helped as well.
I was almost 19 when Ray and I met and began our story. I was there on that first maiden voyage of being entrusted by his father to take our friends over to Catalina. This is where my love for being on the water exponentially grew. I am pretty sure we fell in love on the water. So much so, that he felt called to propose in Catalina and we also got married surrounded by our loved ones there as well.
I will be keeping this business running like a well oiled machine so I can free up Ray to do his thing on the water. From arranging services to managing appointments for your yacht, to executing back house operations such as billing, all the way to organizing, light cleaning, design, party prep and provisioning, I am here to support you!
